Migration to Office 365

Hello,

Thank you for a wonderful product.

We are preparing a proposal for customer where 8045 mailboxes will be migrated to office 365.

It is noticed that approximately 2100 users are using RDS and use outlook in online mode.

They also access shared mailboxes in online mode. Shared mailboxes are about 1600.

On the other hand , we see that approx 4000 mailboxes are using laptops .

Some are using online mode and some are using cached exchange mode.

We would like to know if there will be any impact to users when the mailboxes will be copied to office 365.

We plan to do a full sync and then run delta sync after the full sync.

All mailboxes are distributed in 20 databases and we have 30 mailbox which are 10GB- 20GB in size and these users are in cached exchange mode.

  • When using Outlook in online mode you will see a performance slowdown for users when the agents are running. This is not a result of the tool but how Outlook communicates with Office 365 and the amount of calls going back and forth when the agents are running along with all the Outlook calls going to Office 365.

As JohnnyQuest stated that it's best to perform the sync during off hours to minimize this impact.
