Query about Migration Manager for Active Directory

Hello,

Could you please let me know if the migration manager for AD is advised to be run during business hours

Does this cause any impact to the users / services.

We have file servers , exchange , other applications also in the infrastructure.

  • Hi There,
Yes, most customers run it during the day/business hours. You can specify when the Directory Synchronization agent runs, and you can focus to one DC/GC if you want, to focus the traffic on one machine, perhaps a strong one that could handle the load. The "initial Synchronization" is the pass that causes the most traffic. Once the initial sync is done, the agent performs delta synchronizations only picking up changes.

    I hope this helps,
    Luke
