Migration of mailboxes from On-premise exchange organization to Office 365

Hi,

I am planning to migrate mailboxes from on-premise exchange environment to Office 365 (Cloud). While going through the documents for Migration Manager for Exchange, I was lil bit confused as I'm not familiar with this product.

Not sure to follow which document. Can anyone suggest me to follow which document for Migrating on-premise exchange organization to Office 365.

All the below three VM are hosted in Azure:

1 AD VM (Windows Server 2016)

1 AD connect VM (Windows Server 2016)

1 Exchange Server (Windows Server 2016)

Thanks,

Alves

  • I went through a similar setup recently — migrating from an on-premises Exchange (also hosted on Azure) to Office 365. I ended up using EdbMails Exchange Migration Tool for it.

It handled the direct migration from the on-prem Exchange server to Office 365 without needing complex scripts or staging steps. The tool automatically mapped the mailboxes and took care of incremental sync, so I could migrate in batches without downtime.

If you’re not familiar with Microsoft’s Migration Manager or PowerShell methods, this kind of tool can simplify things a lot.
