Match user.name9@source.local to user.name@target.local

Hello.

Our client have recreated all their users in their new environment earlier and brought us in to migrate their computers, however, we're now stuck in testing because we just stumbled upon 1 of the 6 or so users (out of 1500+) that has a 9 in their UPN, which makes it hard to match them.

I've meticulously inspected 10-15 users and there is no other attribute that can reliably be used for matching other than UPN.

Is there a good way to solve this?

  • Hello  ,

Thank you for posting to the On Demand forum. If I understand correctly, it sounds like you are using the ODM Active Directory module to migrate end-user workstations from the source Active Directory domain to the target Active Directory domain, and are having an issue matching a handful of users.

In these scenarios, you may need to create a manual match. For most users, it sounds like UserPrincipalName -> UserPrincipalName will work.

For the remaining users, you may need to manually create a match, by adding an additional rule to the matching logic. For example: UserPrincipalName -> ExtensionAttribute3

In this example, you would then need to take the source UserPrincipalName attribute value and manually copy it to the target user ExtensionAttribute3 attribute value.

    Here is a screenshot:

If the first rule UserPrincipalName -> UserPrincipalName doesn't work, then ODM will move on to the next matching rule.
