I have a 2 server license. I am using the licenses to move files from one server to another. Once I am done the one server will be retired. Is there a way to recoup the license once it is retired?

Thanks for posting to the Secure Copy forum. I understand you have questions about Secure Copy licensing. Once a single copy job has started, a license is consumed for any servers listed in the source and target configuration. Licenses cannot be recouped once a copy job has been run. If you need to copy data to/from additional servers, then additional Secure Copy licenses will need to be purchased.
If your new copy job uses the same target, then you will only need to purchase one additional license for the new source server. If both the source and target will be different for the new copy job, then you will need two additional Secure Copy licenses.

thanks that answers my question but we had a trial version we tested it, liked it but it was done on test servers. Now I want to do it on production servers but the permanent license shows no available licenses. I uninstalled and reinstalled thinking that might reset but it didn't.
