license query - building new servers and decommissioning old

Hi,

I have a customer that is about to build new servers with the intention of decommissioning the ones currently in use.

They will have a period whereby both systems will be operational and require backups. Once complete we will stop protecting the current systems and just leave as RPs, which will obviously free the licenses up and they can be used by the new servers then.

Question is, how long can we run both in parallel without purchasing new licenses? i.e. back the new ones up in trial mode.

Hi fredbloggs:

According to the AppAssure 5.4.3 User Guide, "A trial license is valid for 14 days, and can be extended one time by the group administrator to a 28-day license."

In plain talk, this means that if for some reason you need more time, you may open a support ticket and a manager will extend your license.

You may need to check

support.software.dell.com/.../118018

to be sure that once transferred, the agents are moved from trial to the full fledged license (you need to go on the portal and enable the license for each agent).
