Hi everyone, looking at upgrading to Rapid Recovery 6.5, upgrading from 6.4, but not seen anyone on here using it. Has anyone updated and what are your experiences with it and the update process?
There is a new option called Synthetic Incremental when selecting force snapshot.
There is also a synthetic incremental option in global settings which you can enable. It looks like it automatically forces incremental snapshots after a dirty shutdown of a server instead of requesting a new base image?

Correct, as with most of the 'new' features that Quest would pump out, to take advantage of the 'new' stuff one much upgrade. I'll be the first to admit, I have only sparingly played around with the synthetic portion. I know in theory what it is suppose to do (similar to the rest of the industry) however I haven't taken the time to really 'do' it here to validate what this flavor of it does and does not do for myself yet.
