What is the limitations of VMware Player?

You can protect a virtual machine hosted on VMware Workstation Player with an agent installed. Agentless Protection is only possible with VMware vCenter/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V.

For restore options, Rapid Recovery will let you perform an export by selecting VMware Workstation Player.

You can find in the Rapid Recovery 6.6 - System Requirements Guide the Hypervisor Requirements.

Depending on the VMware Workstation Player version, the support policy may vary.
