How to Import iCalendar (.ics) File to Outlook – Simple Instructions

Importing an iCalendar (.ics) file into Outlook is a quick and easy way to manage your events. Whether you're transferring calendar data or adding an invitation, Outlook makes it simple. In this guide, we’ll show you how to import your .ics files and keep your schedule organized.

To import an iCalendar (.ics) file to Outlook, you can use the Import and Export Wizard.

Method 1: Using the Import/Export Wizard

  • Open Outlook and go to the File tab.
  • Choose Open & Export (Windows) or Import/Export (Mac).
  • Select Import an iCalendar (.ics) or vCalendar file (.vcs) and click Next.
  • Browse to the location of your .ics file and click Open.
  • Choose the calendar you want to import the events into and click OK.

Method 2: Using Drag and Drop

You can also drag and drop the .ics file directly onto your calendar in Outlook. This will open the same import window where you can select your calendar and import the events.

  • In Outlook for Mac, locate your .ics file in Finder.
  • Drag and drop the .ics file directly onto your Outlook calendar.
  • Click on Import in the Add Event menu that appears.

Importing multiple .ics files at once into Outlook is not straightforward, as the standard import feature does not support selecting multiple files simultaneously. However, there are alternative methods to achieve this. To convert an ICS (iCalendar) file to a PST (Outlook) file using the Cigati ICS Converter, you can follow these steps:

  • Open the Cigati ICS Converter application.
  • Select the ICS file(s) to convert. (You can add multiple ICS files if needed.)
  • Choose PST as the destination format.
  • Click Convert to start the process.

Following these steps will allow you to successfully import ICS files into your Outlook calendar, ensuring that all event details are properly added.
