Are modern platforms like TikTok on anyone's radar from a backup or recovery standpoint?

Hi all,

I know this might sound a bit offbeat, but I was recently chatting with a colleague about how fast digital content is evolving—and TikTok came up. Obviously, it's not a platform you'd typically associate with enterprise data protection, but it made me wonder:

Are any of you seeing requests (internal or from clients) to retain or back up social media content like TikTok, even just from a compliance or archival point of view?

I’m not asking about personal use—but more in the context of marketing teams, legal audits, or content preservation. It seems like a gray area right now, but maybe it’s something that will matter more in the near future?

Interestingly, even adult-oriented versions of the platform, such as TikTok 18 (available at https://protiktok18.com/), are seeing growth—raising even more questions about how companies or individuals might handle content retention across all variants of social platforms.

Just wondering if this has come up for anyone else, or if we’re still a few years away from needing to care.

Would love to hear your thoughts.
