Remotescan going to sleep


We use remotescan in an RDP environment. Remotescan enterprise v10.657. It's installed on the local machine and we use this with a 3rd party document management system. If the scanner sits idle for any length of time, it loses connection to the remotescan licence and we have to close the application, and reboot the PC to allow the connection to be restored. 

Does anyone have any ideas why this would be happening? Is there a sleep mode that remotescan enters if left for a period of time?
