Spotlight - Support TLS v1.2

Does Spotlight support TLS v1.2 connections to SQL Server? Are there specifics that should be known about configuring the Diagnostic servers?

In the scenario that TLS v1 and v1.1 have been disabled on your monitored server(s).

Alarm: Monitored Server - SQL Server Connection Failure

Message: Cannot connect to SQL Server instance 'masked_server_name' : A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: SSL Provider, error: 0 - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.) : An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host [0x80131904]

Hi Carl,

As of Spotlight 12.0 we support support TLS 1.2 connections. A few things to keep in mind:

• You should upgrade to .Net 4.5 to support TLS 1.2 in both Spotlight Client machines and Spotlight Diagnostic Server host.
• Disabling TLS 1.0 and only keeping TLS 1.2 could cause some issue as some of the SQL Server versions don’t support TLS 1.2. You can refer here for more details:
