Is it possible to playback data from months prior using database backups?

I attempted to view metrics from beyond playback setting (7days) by restoring both the repository and playback database from 30 days prior. The application could not read the data for those days. To extend the playback in the app I changed the setting to 60 days, but again not data available.

Hi,

As long as the version of Spotlight used for the previous Playback and Repository databases is the same as the one you're using today, you should be able to utilize the databases in Spotlight to view and report the historical data. The Playback and Repository settings should also go back to the time the databases were collecting data. If this is still an issue, I suggest to create Support ticket.

  Thanks for the reply Gita. That was my assumption as well, but I couldn't get the app to display the historical data. I'll attempt this again before sending a ticket and let you know of any success.

    You can also run the SP spotlight_playback_version in the Playback database to verify the Playback database version. That should be equal to the Diagnostic Server build version.
