Stat and EBS 12.2.x

Anyone using Stat with EBS 12.2 versions?  We are imminently upgrading to 12.2.5 and I've been thinking, for some time now, about how Online Patching will impact on our development processes.  How are you guys managing development in the RUN edition and running patching cycles in the Dev environment?  How are you managing code migrations?  The recommendation from Quest was to migrate to Both editions but this, apparently, runs contrary to Oracle's recommended best practice.
