Hi All,
I am hoping you can help me and I will do what I can to give you as much information as I have. If you need more information, please feel free to ask. I am not familiar with vRanger, but have used a good number of backup solutions through the years to understand concepts, etc. I do not know the version of vRanger, but have requested it. I do have access to any data or server at the moment, so if you can help, please detail out your solution and/or point to KB artiicles.
Here is the situation and where I need some guidance. We have had a complete SAN failure on our network and our vRanger server and database was on the failed SAN, however, all of our backups are safe on another storage device. Is there a way to install a fresh copy of vRanger, attach to the backup files and re-catalog the information so I can restore the virtual servers?
Any help greatly appreciated.
If there are consultants available to help, we are open to that as well.
Jason
Sorry for the delay,
If the backups are outside the SAN, you can create a new VM or install vRanger in an existing machine. Once you have this, you can add the repository to vRanger and start performing restores. Just as a summary, please note the following:
