December. It’s cold and flu season. We’re all a little rundown from holiday stress. And oddly enough, it feels as if our databases aren’t even immune. Maybe it’s Murphy’s Law. Maybe it’s just life. But it seems whenever I have time off coming up, my databases start slowing down.
And I don’t know about you, but I need my time off this year.
From taking on open-source databases and the cloud to dealing with insane demands, this year has been nuts. So when I heard Jason Hall has the cure for slow SQL Server performance, I was all in. I’m totally going to check out his on-demand webcast.
Check out Jason’s on-demand webcast.
My favorite SQL Server expert, Jason Hall, teams up with Kyle Mertz, the Next-Gen Database Team Lead at Express Scripts to reveals the prescription for database health at Express Scripts. Together they show how this huge company, with so much critical data at stake, accelerated SQL Server performance.
Here’s the inside scoop on this webcast.
Being the diehard Jason Hall fan that I am, I read up on this session. And I knew immediately I could relate to what Jason and Kyle discuss. Yep, that dreaded complaint, the one nearly all of us DBAs know and love so very much, “The server is slow,” well, our man Kyle was hearing that more often than he’d like. And as the stellar Express Scripts employee that he is, Kyle rose to his company’s mission and worked hard to solve the issue at hand.
Solving all the things – and I mean, ALL the things
We’ll not only hear firsthand how he improved database performance, but we’ll also get to see how he accomplished a bunch of other goals as well. With insights from Kyle and Jason, you and I can expect to leave this session knowing how to:
- Achieve high availability.
- Resolve database issues proactively.
- Adopt open-source and non-relational technologies confidently and easily.
- Take collaboration to the next level.
- Simplify database performance tuning.
- Monitor and manage a complex environment of diverse database platforms with a single, intuitive solution.
Vacation time, here I come!
Having attended plenty of Jason Hall webcasts in the past, I can tell you this one came at the perfect time. He always gives me advice I can immediately apply to my own database environment and it never fails that I start seeing results quickly. I figure with the guidance from this webcast, we should all be set to enjoy some hard-earned time off, without having to worry about emergency calls.
And if you ask me, there’s no better holiday gift than that.
I think I can speak for all of us DBAs when I say, a little vacation is just what the doctor ordered. And thanks to Jason Hall and Express Scripts, we can look forward to a happy, healthy New Year – for our databases and ourselves.
