Change Auditor Coordinator 6.9 and Agent 6.8 issues?

If I upgrade Change Auditor Coordinators to 6.9, is it a requirement to upgrade the Change Auditor Agents on the domain controllers or can those stay at 6.8 for the time being?  Is it known if this would break anything?

    Windows Server 2012 R2 and Server 2008 R2
    Not seeing any events until I upgraded .Net to 4.6.1. To be fair, this is my QA environment and it is not set up like Production apparently (I've taken it over from someone else). The event that was reported was that the Agent connected on 1/24. No events between that date and 1/18, which was when I upgraded the agent.
