Facing Issues with Servers and Quest Backup & Recovery 12.3. Any Advice?

Hey team,

I’m currently dealing with some issues on my server while using Quest Backup & Recovery 12.3. Lately, I’ve been experiencing performance slowdowns, particularly during backup operations, and there are times when I get unexpected errors that disrupt the data recovery process. The server seems to struggle during these tasks, causing delays and, occasionally, system instability.

I’ve tried some basic troubleshooting, like restarting services, adjusting backup schedules, and reconfiguring a few settings, but the problems persist. I’m not sure if this is a compatibility issue with the current server setup, or if there’s a specific configuration for Quest Backup & Recovery that I should be using. I’m worried that frequent disruptions might lead to data integrity issues down the line.

Has anyone else faced similar challenges with Quest Backup & Recovery on their servers? If so, what strategies or optimizations worked for you? I’m also curious if upgrading to a newer version would help, but I’m cautious about introducing new variables without a solid plan.

Any advice on server configurations, Quest product tuning, or known fixes would be greatly appreciated! Please feel free to share your experiences or any documentation that might be useful.

Thanks a lot for your help!

  • It sounds like you're facing some frustrating issues with Quest Backup & Recovery. I’ve had similar performance slowdowns, especially during backups. Upgrading to the latest version often helps with compatibility and introduces optimizations. Additionally, ensure that your server has sufficient resources allocated for backup tasks. You can also check logs for error specifics and consider adjusting the backup window to off-peak hours. Good luck!
