Email attachment icon disappears when an archived email is opened and closed. The attachment is still there when you reopen however the outlook client doesn't show the attachment icon in the email list. Macro is turned on. Any ideas?

  • Hi Rebecca,

Please perform the following to isolate the issue:

    1. Make sure archived emails are opened as read-only by enabling "Open message as read-only" when publishing forms. For instructions, please refer to the link below:

    Publishing Archive Manager Forms

    2. Check if issue is reproducible when using other Outlook versions.

    3. Install the Outlook AddIn. For instructions, please refer to the link below:

  • Thanks for the information. We did check to see if this was happening on another machine. And it was not. It is something about her new machine. I have made sure the macro’s are turned on which fixed the attachments disappearing totally. Now it is just the attachments icon (the paperclip) themselves that are disappearing. Very strange . Thanks. Rebecca
  • Any idea why just the icon is disappearing? It makes it hard for the end user to sort or look for emails with attachments.
  • Hi Rebecca,

If the issue persists after performing the provided recommendations, I suggest that you submit a case so an engineer can perform further investigation as to what's causing it to happen. It may help if you'll keep the following files handy:

    • Latest ExchangePAM synchronization log/s in C:\Program Files (x86)\Metalogix\MAM4Exchange\Log
    • Latest job schedule log/s in C:\Program Files (x86)\Metalogix\MAM4Exchange\Log\Protocols
    • Latest Archive status log/s in C:\Program Files (x86)\Metalogix\MAM4Exchange\Log\ArchiveStatus

    Regards,

    Cyrus
