Security translation for storage containers

Hello,

I'm trying to found the way or the step by step how to pass the security translation for a non Windows Systems.

I explain:

We have several storage solution (SAN): QNAP, Nutanix Files........ Several shares are created on these solutions and presented to the Windows users as shares (\\domain.local\share)

I want to know, how to precess these shares.

I saw the VMOVER command, but im not sure: how to do it ? what switch to use?

So /Volume= overrides the INI settings and only processes the permissions of the UNC path you provided on the command line.

The /exclude /excludepath and /recursion can all be used to slice up the files system…

Do I have to do it on two steps:

1- /system

2- /volume

Does this cause any problems for the storage container, especially /system , i dont know exactly what it does.

For reference support.quest.com/.../24

The /system=host switch will process INI settings for the host specified. Normally for a non-windows host supporting SAMBA/CIFFS the only ini setting enabled is "Shares=Yes" (all others should be no)
