Today we released an update to AppAssure - version 5.3.4. If you are on a previous build of AppAssure 5.3, we recommend you upgrade your core, as this version has resolved several known issues. Click here to read the full release notes, including instructions on how to install the upgrade.
This release porvides extended support for Linux machines. We now can also support protecting:
- SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP3
- Ubuntu 13.04
- CentOS 6.4
- RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.4
Support for 32 and 64 bit is included for all four flavors. Currently, only ext3, ext4, and xfs file systems are supported. These Linux agents will provide backup, full recovery, bare metal recovery, and the ability to mount snapshots as point-in-time volumes.
One thing we fixed in this version was how the bare metal restore (BMR) process works for Linux. The User’s Guide has been updated – the BMR process for Linux is pretty well documented in Chapter 4, make sure you check it out.
