New version of Quick Connect brings Windows 2012 support; improved logging, workflow and mapping history; and multiple enhancements to sync engine.
In this post I would like to provide overview of "Read and Write Attribute Values of Parent Objects" feature. It enables access to parent object's properties in sync step.
This feature can be used in various migration scenarios or for bulk updates of multiple objects with their parent's properties.
For example in case we want to provide information about origin of user account in migration or re-provision scenario, we can take name of source parent OU and sync it to some attribute in target.
Also we can also use this feature to update users with properties of their parent OU like City or Department.
