Quest's VP of IS: Quest "Now Enjoying the Benefits" of NetVault

On Quest Software's Executive Blog, Carol Fawcett, vice president of global information services, recently talked about how her IS team is enjoying the benefits of NetVault, data protection technology acquired through the purchase of BakBone Software last year:

"What an advantage this suite has offered with its hands-off, streamlined approach to protecting business critical data—releasing us from the shackles of traditional time-restricted, tape-based backups.">

For example, using NetVault FastRecover, a continuous data protection solution with built-in WAN replication, Fawcett estimates that the company was able to reduce the cost of protecting remote-site data by over $7,500.00 per site. And with NetVault SmartDisk deduplication, Quest saw a 47.7:1 dedupe ratio for their virtual backups. Fawcett comments: "That’s almost 14TB of data reduced down to just 650GB of unique data!">

Fawcett is responsible for aligning the company's global business needs and strategies with appropriate technology and process plans. Read her blog post in its entirety here:
