group job throws error due to host which does not exist anymore

Hello Claudio, 

You should have the backup group in your inventory. Edit the backup group and remove the VM from it. Whenever you set up a backup group, it keeps the VM ID (in your case, VM-6299) in the database. So it will keep trying to take a backup of that VM while the ID is still on the backup group. 

If you do not know which backup group that VM was located on, just expand them. The VM name should show up in color gray and cursive as it should be "inaccessible".

your solution would be the way I expected it to actually be...however I can´t get rid of this VM ID via GUI (vRanger 7.8.0 btw).

The VM does not show up in the backup group at all.

I tried to reproduce this locally with my VR 7.8, but I couldn't. All the machines I deleted were still showing up on the backup group. 

I would suggest creating a support case to investigate, it may be a phantom entry that was not correctly deleted from the DB.

Quest support solved my issue. Actually you were right, but you must not EDIT the backup group (a windows opens up reflecting the current situation on vcenter where the removed host does not appear) but expand the backup group under "My Inventory - backup groups" (klick the + sign).

there the removed host appeared grayed out and cursive saying it is inaccessible or disconnected.
