Microsoft Azure-hosted SaaS offering receives ISO Certification to ensure data governance across Microsoft cloud environments with New Support for Teams
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, (13 January 2021) – Quest Software, a global systems management and security software provider, today announced the availability of Quest On Demand in Australia.
A Microsoft Azure-hosted software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform available within Quest’s Microsoft Platform Management business, the On Demand portfolio gives global organisations all the tools they need to move, manage and secure Microsoft hybrid cloud workloads in a simple, SaaS-based delivery model.
Organisations located in Australia can now benefit from these offerings and gain easy control in managing hybrid Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and Office 365 groups, with new support for Teams. Additionally, organisations can tighten corporate security postures across data centres with assurance that data sovereignty requirements are met as On Demand is ISO/IEC 27017 and ISO/IEC 27018 certified.
“The availability of Quest On Demand reinforces our commitment to customers in supporting their journey to the cloud,” said Boris Ivancic, Vice President and GM APJ, Quest Software.
“Many of Australia’s largest companies already rely on Quest’s on premises solutions to protect and migrate between Microsoft’s platforms and technologies, including three of our four major banks, one of our two major carriers, one of the largest retailers and a number of government agencies,” he said.
We listen to our customers and in order to support their cloud first strategies, we’re delivering a SaaS offering to support their needs.”
Quest On Demand features the industry’s most complete set of SaaS solutions to help IT teams manage, migrate and secure users in Azure Active Directory and data across Exchange Online, One Drive, SharePoint Online and now Teams.
Additionally, On Demand makes it simple for organisations to manage Office 365 license types and costs with a view into usage patterns by user, department, and product.
Ensuring Data Sovereignty Across Microsoft Teams
With today’s global remote workforce fuelled by the global pandemic, organisational adoption of Office 365 continues to surge, resulting in Microsoft Teams fast becoming the collaboration and communications tool of choice across enterprise organisations.
Yet, with the highly collaborative nature of Teams comes a growing trend of corporate data being generated and stored within Teams, which creates new data governance challenges in areas of classification, appropriate access and ownership.
This adoption combined with the high rate of merger and acquisition activity, underscores the need for tools available within the Quest On Demand portfolio that give IT teams the power to consolidate and migrate tenants and address the data governance challenges with near zero impact to the business.
Reinforcing Quest’s commitment to trust, compliance and implementing global best practices, the company has partnered with ISO, KPMG, and PECB to obtain ISO/IEC 27001 certification for On Demand. Additionally, ISO/IEC 27017 ISO/IEC 27018 certifications have been secured to ensure Quest On Demand complies with the standards and guidelines for information security controls applicable to the provision and use of cloud services and the Code of practice for protection of personally identifiable information (PII) in public clouds acting as PII processors.
