TEC Talk: Understanding Risk and How You Can Use It to Deliver Better Business Outcomes
The world has changed when it comes to business technology. IT leaders are being told to do more with less. And while that's not news, how do you use the language of executives so that you have the best chance of getting your project across the line? This session will take you through real-world examples that not only enabled key IT projects to be delivered but were seen as valuable by executives and boards.

Cameron Dench has helped customers for over 20 years to design, build and migrate between Microsoft environments. Working in roles across support, administration, engineering, consulting and most recently presales, Cameron's experience has covered almost every area of business. His background within Microsoft technologies dates back to the mid 90s, where Windows 3.11 & DOS were king. Cameron's focus is always on finding the right solution to meet the needs of the customer. When not immersed in IT, Cameron loves spending time with his wife and daughters, playing guitar and golf.

Greg Biegen owns strategy and security operations for the Quest global security program and is responsible for building the security roadmap and architecture. In addition to keeping Quest, its employees and customers safe from cyberthreats, he assures Quest products meet strict security and compliance requirements while also working with third parties to assess risk and achieve a protected supply chain. Greg has held similar roles at a variety of companies including Cherwell Software (now Ivanti), Vendavo, and EMS Software. Greg is based out of Colorado and a proud CU Buffalo alum.

Matt Deres joined Quest in October 2022 as CIO and is responsible for setting the strategic direction for technology and delivering a high-quality technology service to meet growth and strategic ambitions at Quest. He brings over 15 years of senior-level transformational IT experience, with a focus on team development and employee engagement, business collaboration, and enabling systems and data to help drive the business. Prior to Quest, Matt held roles as the Chief Information Officer at Rocket Software, the Senior Vice President of Information Technology at ACI Worldwide, and the Vice President of Global Infrastructure & Operations at PTC. Matt lives in western Massachusetts, with his wife and three boys, where they enjoy the rich music, arts, and culture and natural beauty the region has to offer.
