Easily discover, identify, manage and track software

A feature of the Asset Manager

You can easily automate tracking and management of all of your software assets with Asset Manager. Ensure license compliance, eliminate inefficiencies and wasted software, and streamline the entire software asset management process with one solution.

How it works:

Automatically recognizes software
Asset Manager can successfully identify and categorize more than 85 percent of all software automatically. The solution features a software DNA database that includes more than 500,000 software packages. This including bundles, which helps you differentiate between editions of common software.
Effectively manage licenses
You can import software license agreements and link them with installed applications. You’ll never miss renewals or true-ups with key contract date alerts. This solution also helps you ensure all product use rights are understood, including upgrade and downgrade rights, and second-use rights. Ensure optimal use of licenses with complete licensing position visibility.
Purchase only the software you actually need
Avoid unnecessary software purchases by identifying unused copies on your network. Track when and how often software is used with passive metering. With Asset Manager, you can put unused software where it’s needed, and see how a bundle is being used to adjust your licensing accordingly.
Automatically enforce your license agreements
Use active metering to ensure you meet concurrent license agreements. For example, if you license 100 copies of an application, active metering will prohibit the launch of the 101st copy.
Monitor and track software in complex virtual environments
With Asset Manager, you can track licenses in even the most complex virtual environments, as well as in physical desktops and servers. Connectors are available for VMware ESX/ESXI and vCenter, Microsoft Hyper-V & App-V and Citrix XenApp and EdgeSight to track software on your virtual environment.
Block unapproved applications
Prevent unwanted software from being run, and report and alert on new applications that have been added to your network. This helps you maintain control over installed applications, which helps reduce security risks and costs associated with maintaining unapproved applications
