MSSQLTips and Quest webcast: Gathering and Using Historical Data to Solve SQL Server Performance Issues

DBAs are often asked to solve SQL Server performance issues that occurred in the past. And unless you’ve installed a SQL Server monitoring solution, you’re forced to rely on SQL Server’s data collection.

As you’ve probably discovered, SQL Server data collection has many limitations in terms of what it stores historically, what data exists and how data is not integrated together across the various areas of the product and its features.

What you will learn

In this on-demand webcast, you’ll learn how to leverage native SQL Server data collection for troubleshooting and optimizing SQL Server processes. And because native data alone is not enough, we’ll also show you how to design and implement an additional data collection process. You’ll see how to gather other important data that’s useful in historical troubleshooting efforts.

By the end of the on-demand webcast, you’ll be able to troubleshoot and solve some of the toughest SQL Server issues that occurred while you were on vacation or just not around for the production outage.
