individual’s personal data is protected, and carries the harshest

The DBA is often the primary responsible party for implementing
compliance controls and technical measures for protecting data. But GDPR
first requires an assessment of where personal data is located across
databases and this is one of the first challenges a DBA faces before
applying protection measures.
