Community Cartridge
5482.recipientManagement-1_9_8_1.zip
The Notification Management Cartridge creates a single point to manage who is notified about what, structured around a 'Recipient' model.
The Recipient model works off a Master List of alarms that an organization would like to know about when they occur – at a definable (Global) severity. Inheriting rules from the master list are Recipients. The 'Recipient' objects are named and contain a list of Interested Items, Subscribed Rules, Cell Phone Numbers and email Addresses. (Acting as a container for all the elements that a person or group are interested in)
The final piece is a rule that fires whenever an Alarm Event occurs within Foglight. The rule checks to see if the Alarm is contained within the Master List, and if it is whether there are any Recipients that should be notified based off the impacted host or end-user service. The rule then dynamically creates a list of email addresses and notifies each one.
Concepts

Interested Items – A Host, End-User Service or Web Monitor that has been added to one or more recipients.
Subscribed Alarm – An Alarm that has been added to one or more recipients from the master list.
