How to migrate data from Lotus notes DB to SharePoint

Quest tool only allow to select the records via Lotus notes existing views and forms which limit the records to be migrated. Is it possible to select all records with fields from Lotus notes DB and migrate to SharePoint without creating new views in Lotus notes? Please suggest the possible approaches.

  • 1. MNSP can migrate Notes forms to InfoPath forms or Nintex forms. This will include most of the formatting, but little of the logic (validation, hide-when etc.) Most of these need to be re-created manually.

To be honest, I don't know how Notes table templates work, so I'm afraid I can offer little help here.

    2. I don't know exactly what you mean with "attach".

What you can do with list templates:
    i) Create a SharePoint list template in SharePoint
ii) Create a matching target data definition in MNSP.
On the "Advanced" tab, under "Matching SharePoint templates", select your SharePoint list template.
(If a SharePoint target Site is specified, we will pull all templates from SharePoint. If no target is specified, we will only show the default templates.)

iii) Create a Source Data Definition for your Notes template in MNSP.
Make sure the template name is specified under "Templates supported".
Specify the SharePoint template name under "Maps to list types".

iv) Now, when you create a new migration job and select a database based on your Notes template, MNSP will prompt you if you want to load a matching Source Data Definition. (You can create more than one data definition for a template - you will then have a selection of all matching definitions.)

After you loaded the Source Data Definition, you can change to the SharePoint tab and click on "Load". Again, you will be asked if you want to load a matching Target Data Definition. (And again, you can have more than one.)

What you can do with Site Templates:

    i) In the MNSP Console, create a Technical Class for your Notes Template.

ii) On the "Auto Target" tab in the Class properties, you can select to "Create new site for each database". There you can also select a Site Template.
(Again, if you have a SharePoint parent Site selected, we will pull all available Site templates. If not, we will only show default templates.)

    Hope this helps.
