Can backups use SMBv2 or v3?

vRagner 7.6.

I need to connect to a repository on a server which has had SMBv1 disabled.  The minute they did that, my backups from VA all began to fail.

Is there any reason we cannot use SMBv2?

  • Hello Bradycl,

Currently, the VA does not support SMB2. It defaults to SMB1, we're currently investigating this. While this 'defect' is being investigated, if it is an option - use NFS repositories (Windows and most NAS devices have support for this) if you cannot re-enable SMB1.
  • Thank you for the speedy response! We can divert to a temporary location, but I would love to know if a patch or new VA version becomes available.
