We are excited to announce that On Demand Migration for Email (ODME) now supports migrating from GroupWise 7.0.3 through 18!
Great! So where do I start?
Step 1: Set the GroupWise Post Office Agent to restart automatically
When preparing your GroupWise source email service, the GroupWise Post Office Agent (POA) should be set to restart automatically.
Step 2: Creating the Trusted Application Key
To migrate data from GroupWise with ODME, you need a Trusted Application Key. In GroupWise version 7 through 2012, ConsoleOne can be used to create a Trusted Application Key. In GroupWise 2014 and 18, the Trusted Application Key be created in the GroupWise Admin console:
- Go to System | Applications
- Click New
- Provide a Name and click OK
- Export or document the key that is generated
- This key will then be entered into the ODME source connection settings:
Configure SSL and the GroupWise Web Service (SOAP):
The following KB article provides additional step-by-step instructions:
Configure Cloud Access to the GroupWise Server
To configure Cloud access to the GroupWise Server, complete the following steps:
Open the corporate firewall to allow the SOAP information through. Note: All GroupWise Post Offices containing migrating users will need to have SOAP enabled and be accessible to the ODME servers.
- For information on determining the IP addresses used by the ODME services please review the following solution:
To test the GroupWise SOAP service, open a web browser, preferably Chrome or Firefox, and enter the GroupWise SOAP URL, based on the following example:
http://ip:port/soap. (ex. http://192.168.0.25:7191/soap)
The following should be displayed:
HTTP/1.1 200 Date: Tue, 10 Jun 2008 08:35:42 GMT
Server: NetWare GroupWise POA 7.0.3
Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8
Pragma: no-cache 59905
Bad parameter passed to a NCSP function
Note: Microsoft Internet Explorer may display an Extensible Markup Language (XML) Parser error. In this case, right click on the page and View Source. You will see the raw page source and be able to read any responses from the SOAP interface.
Here is a screenshot example showing a successful response from the GroupWise SOAP service in a web browser:
