 Security by obscurity is no longer an effective SharePoint security strategy in SharePoint 2013.

 

SharePoint search functionality received a major boost in SharePoint 2013, delivering your users precise results and proactively offering recommendations about people and documents they might want to follow.

 

But this means that now users with looser SharePoint access than they should have will have access to the highly sensitive content they shouldn't see via the search interface, including salary information, health information (PHI) and other personally identifiable information (PII).
